Sanatan Dharma is a deep study of worship of various Hindu deities. It includes a scientific method of making humans superhuman being, which is not included in any other religion of the world. That is why Annie Besant said: “I studied all the major religions of the world and found that there is no one full, great and scientific religions like the Hindu religion. If Hindus cannot save the Hindu religion then who else will save them? If the children of India are not firm on their religion, then who will protect that religion? ”
God is one, but his powers are endless. For an ordinary person, it is very difficult to understand the difference of divine powers. However, by understanding this secret distinction, people can take advantage of those divine powers. Thus, our astral visionary sages created a simple scientific method of “Dev Pujan”.
In all the beings, man is the only creature who can develop all the powers of God within him by practicing asceticism. In this sadhana, “meditation yoga” is the essential factor, because according to psychology when we start contemplating something deeply, its qualities begin to manifest within us. During meditating Yoga, the mind is concentrated intensively to meditate deep.
Now, the problem is that there is no shape or form of God’s powers. They are imperceptible. Thus, only yogis can get admission in such a non-centric subject, but the purpose of our sages was “Survey Bhavantu Sukhinah”. Meditation – We can only think about things, whose properties we are familiar with. Therefore, our Sages have expressed the different powers of God in the form of qualities and forms, in the form of Deities-Gods. Now, whoever wants to attain whichever God’s power in himself, is able to get it by worshiping that deity.
Those who oppose idol worship by saying “Idol worshiper are infidels”, or “You have so many gods”, “Ours is only one God”, they are requested to take advantage of the knowledge and secret of the sages to improve their life.
Idol worship or Dev Pujan is not a meaningless business, but it is a symbolic psychological method of converting a foolish, ignorant and selfish human being into a person possessing divine qualities and making him a great human being.
People can talk about One God, but we have developed the art to achieve its infinite powers.
Each of our deities is a symbol of quality and power. Through their worship, we worship God’s qualities and powers, we worship the secret elements of self-control. Our respected sages have designed a simple method of cultivating divine powers by worshiping them.
The nature of man’s mind is that he does not grow without discipline but becomes elusive and despicable. As long as he knows that someone is observing his deeds and thoughts, and in a while, I have to be present before him, he remains careful. When a person, busy working whole day, stands in front of the idol statue he prays to every morning and evening, he realizes that he is in front of God and his deeds start appearing before his eyes. This saves a person with the nature of doing anything for selfishness from evil deeds.
Acharya Vinoba Bhave wrote: “If the idol was not there, by breaking the flower from the garden, a man could use it only to enjoy its smell, but by being satiated with a saintly spirit, the man put the flower on the idol of God. To make our desires lively, advanced and refined, humans took a pledge to dedicate themselves to God.”
The gentleman who is rich in the sacraments of Sanatan Dharma offers good things in the house at the feet of his deity, before using it. It has been said in the Upanishads too – “Ten Tyaktan Bhujinatha”, that is, consume it steadily. Firstly sacrifice and then enjoy it later. The devotee does this. The object is first offered to God and then used afterward. This is the concept behind offering a sacrifice to the idol of Lord, which becomes a human habit. His lust will be converted to devotion by sacrifice because it is only possible for a yogi to completely renounce his lust. Whether it is about a yogi or a bhogee, Sanatan Dharma is an amazing science of uplifting a person from whichever state he is in and give him a chance to meet God.
The Dev Pujan scripts of our religion are filled with this kind of secrets. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the real science behind it and not consider it as preposterous.
